Middlerigg Tarn

Between Ambleside and Windermere it’s less than a 10 minute walk from the main road. I’ve only been up the track beside it once . . . way back in the 1970’s. I’ve walked down the path that runs parallel about 500 metres away many times.

I thought I wasn’t going to get a view of the tarn because of a high wall but fortunately there were a few places where it had been damaged/dismantled. It’s privately owned and the OS map indicates a dam at the western end.

I’ve added an extra with a variety of other photos. I walked 3½ miles according to my phone.
