Kowhai

Part of the big kowhai tree just coming into flower. Its nectar has attracted the male bellbird to my garden, not just for a brief daily visit, but for much of the day. He sits in the tree, engaging in delightful bellbird chatter, and occasionally sending forth a peal of bell-like notes. The tree will be happy too.
