Woodsmill Quay, York

This morning we went across to York to meet old friends for lunch. I only managed a couple of photos, but this one was the better of the two. Woodsmill Quay is a former Victorian mill which has now been converted into apartments and holiday flats. 
York's riverside was once very busy with commercial traffic, but this has now disappeared. The two crane gantries which are now redundant are a reminder of York's industrial past. The smaller of the two crane gantries on the left was threatened with demolition a few years ago, but fortunately this was not permitted.
