It’s important to wear the correct underwear

Dressed To Kill is an exhibition at Torre Abbey, Torquay, on Agatha Christie and costume design. This costume was worn by Maggie Smith, playing the character  Daphne Castle, in the film version of Evil Under the Sun (1982).

The costumes for this character are playful and stylish, and there is much attention to detail , such as the colour coordination of Daphne Castle’s outfits and accessories.
Costume designer Anthony Powell insisted that the costumes for this production were historically accurate, which included insisting that the actors wore period correct underwear.

We spent the afternoon there. The extra is a publicity still from the film showing Maggie Smith.
Went for tea in a cafe by the harbour. The town seems deserted.
