Road works!

This is the bottom of Hospital Road.  I was walking up to meet B and it was fascinating watching the beautifully timed operations.  Some laying, some flattening and the vehicle on the right was vacuuming up any bits from the side that hadn't yet been done!  As we came back down it was doing the very edge of the new tarmac the round brush sweeping the bits into the path of the vacuum cleaner.

We were on our way to the McMillan coffee morning at Walmsley Church Hall.  We had a great time spending our money and then had a cup of coffee and a teacake.  We called Ro to collect us by car as we ended up with a lot of cakes and stuff!  B won a bottle of wine!  So glad he came as it was raining heavily when we left and is still raining.  It looks set in for the day.

P, C and the two girls are arriving this evening.  Probably late.  So looking forward to seeing them.  Hope they like the cakes I bought this morning! and the lemon curd!
