Blip. Sorted.

What else could I possibly blip?

There was a tremendous storm during the night, and it was still raining slightly this morning. So we had a very leisurely breakfast — after only one cup of coffee I did Wordle in 2 again. Eventually we got our act together and took the quaint old wooden tram to Soller — a very slow trundle of about 3 km through orange groves that cost a stonking 8 euros each.

In Soller we pootled round the shops and then convened in the covered market to buy the ingredients for dinner. Next up, lunch in a cafe that was heavily oriented towards vegan, vegetarian, and organic food — pretty unusual for Spain. We all had variations on tomato and avocado on toast, very nice and reasonably priced.

After that we headed for the town’s modernist art museum, Can Prunera. It has some big names in its collection: Mirò, Picasso, Toulouse-Lautrec, Klee — although as S said, by and large it was sketches they had scribbled on napkins. It was an enjoyable visit though — a bit like the Guggenheim in Bilbao, the main art to admire was the building itself, a magnificent Modernista mansion built between 1904 and 1911. Every room has a floor with a different fabulous encaustic tile design, the most elaborate I have ever seen, and many of the windows have delicate engraved decoration. See extra for an initial impression.

Obligatory ice cream stop afterwards before heading back to the port on the tram. It was glorious sunshine by then but we were tired enough to just hang out looking at the view. Dinner at home, cooked by Bundle and L.
