IBMA, Raleigh, Day 4

It was rainy and breezy when we woke up this morning but nothing to be concerned about. We had breakfast and caught the 11:00 am shuttle back to the convention center. Our driver (bottom right) ran two red lights so I was personally happy when the bus got to our destination. Since the awards ceremony was so late last night, I posted three photos from that event on the left column of my collage. Some of the Sister Sadie members in the first row were nominated for a few awards. The center photo is a combo of all of last night’s performers. Del McCoury won male vocalist of the year and is pictured in the bottom row. We strolled around the different areas to get our bearings on where the “outside” stages had been set up inside. Turns out, the one we were most interested in was in the basement with the crafters. We saw my favorite song writer and vocalist, Jim Lauderdale (top right). Just love his crooning. You see all kinds of folks at a festival. The man in the middle frame of the first row, owns an online bluegrass magazine. Hubby says each year his outfit is more outrageous to draw folks to his booth so he can promote his publication. I really liked the art work on display (middle frame.). There were tons of workshops to attend and musical instruments/accessories/handcrafts for sale. Our favorite stained glass crafter did not attend which was my only disappointment of the week. Wishing you a fun and safe weekend. Our thoughts and prayers are definitely with all those who have lost all their worldly possessions or their lives by the ravaging hurricane. Being in the basement, we have no idea what is happening outside here. Guess we will figure it out around midnight when we leave. Just got pictures of hubby’s first cousin’s Florida home that was destroyed by the storm. He is safe at his son’s home thankfully. Thanks for dropping by. "There is nothing like a music festival, People are ready to have a good time. I
don't think anyone comes to a festival going, I'm gonna be a complete bummer
today.” ~ Garry Clark
