Comma
Final day at How Hill and it was a scorcher. Lots of Butterflies around, especially Peacocks and Brimstones. Also saw Orange Tips, Small white and Speckled Wood while we were there. But it was this Comma, fresh, perhaps newly emerged as it kept still long enough for me to get up close and personal, which won the day.
A great resource at How Hill, not only open as a study centre but also an open space for walks and boat trips in season. We will be back .... perhaps in a few weeks in the hope of seeing the Swallowtails.
