Ivy flowers

A quieter day working at home today, which made getting to pottery less of a rush, and I managed a walk before work. At pottery, one of the projects is to make a tile, create a plaster mould, and then create multiple tiles from it. Interesting idea, I thought, but I found it very hard to think of what to carve into it, so I ended up the cheat’s way by pressing some ivy flowers into the clay to leave an imprint. Some others were doing all kinds of fancy things, but I don’t have the mental space to think of much at the moment so this will do. I’m planning to make them into coasters so it needed to be something fairly flat. Plaster casting doesn’t happen until just before half term so you won’t see the finished thing for ages!
