Batsford Colour
Gill has been suffering with migraines this past week so in an effort to cheer her up I suggested a trip to Batsford Arboretum this afternoon. The afternoon sun is lower now and shows up the advancing autumn colours well. A few other photographers about too, although this tree was not getting much attention and has become my blip. No idea what it is - I should have photographed the label too. A type of maple?
Batsford has a good garden centre where Gill bought some ferns to go in a wall hanging container she bought at Baddesley earlier in the week. The kitchen and cafe have also been extended so there was plenty of space for a coffee and cake stop too.
This staycation of ours is beginning to become expensive!
Last November we had a good blipmeet at Batsford - I am wondering if we should repeat that? I have no idea of how to predict the best colours so if anyone does know - please feel free to say :-)
Half Term here is 24th-28th October so wise to avoid that week?
For anyone travelling there is the possibility of a visit to Sezincote too - just need to be sure of their opening times and admission charges.
If anyone is keen - let me know in the comments and I'll put something on the blipmeets page.
Motorhome saga {aka: here comes the science part}
Our staycation continues as Lyra is currently sat on our drive awaiting a battery negative lead and current sensor. Part of the smart alternator system, the sensor has failed so the alternator is not switching into high current mode. The van (engine starter) battery is receiving a moderate charge but I am not sure it would tolerate having the headlights on, so no longer journeys until the lead/sensor are replaced. They are on back order with no firm date for delivery. We'll take her back to the storage yard tomorrow where the solar panel can look after the batteries until the lead arrives.
