Blown away
Having not slept well, I was anticipating that today was going to be an incredibly long one, particularly as I awoke to the strains of m’boy’s horrible coldy cough reverberating throughout the house.
Fortunately, that wasn’t the case and it was actually really good fun instead. We had a morning wander into town to allow m’boy to pick out and try on some new astro turf boots - a present from his Nanny for his forthcoming birthday - and we picked up some supplies too with The Youngest feeling very proud of herself for leading us to a cache of Calpol.
Following lunch and some chill out time, we were then off down to Heysham to see LadyV and her girls. The weather was windy, but sunny, so we took them all out for a bike/scoot along the prom. The sea was wild, but this only served to draw in a number of wind/kite surfers who were really making the most of it, performing some pretty impressive leaps over the crest of the waves.
The children all played really nicely together and demolished the fab cottage pie tea that LadyV had laid on. A round of Mario Kart followed before I reluctantly had to drag my lot away as it was getting late.
Cracking day (and I even managed to stay awake for most of it.)
