On a sunny afternoon

But I wasn't lazing (as the Kinks were), I was out for a healthy walk around the footpaths of the Bourne. It's a rabbit warren and we wandered up and down for two hours marveling at the many large and elegant houses hidden down little tracks. The red foliage on the tree in someone's garden particularly caught my eye as did the large number of nice red apples.

By the time I got home I was quite tired so I pushed out a few zzzz.  Later I watched a programme on Channel 5 about the Winter of Discontent (Nov '78 to Feb '79). It was interesting to see it now in the context of all that has happened since and the situation we are in currently. We could so easily be in for another one, I think. I hope not but I have my fears.
