We’re allowed to use a hose on newly laid turf. Just as well, I’d hate to think how long it would take with a watering can. Ali has been great about not going in the new grass with only a step ladder on it’s side keeping her away, but today I found her having a lovely long roll, right in the middle of the lawn!

Cut down our enormous sunflower today. Shame as it still had dozens of flowers waiting to open, but it was listing with the weight and I thought it safer to get rid. Never will I have another quite as large (3meters) with as many flowers. I have kept some flower heads so we will see what next year brings.
