The Mud Maid

So many great scenes from our day today walking around The Lost Gardens of Heligan! This is a natural sculpture called “The Mud Maid”. It made me feel like lying down in the grass and joining her on her nap! She was built with a framework of timber and netting, to which sticky mud was applied. Her hands and face were made with mud, cement and sand, then coated with yogurt and lichens! Her clothes are made of Ivy!
I loved it!
