Southwold
A good journey south today with fine weather and hitting the sun and WARMTH from Peterborough onwards. Not in our usual SW but in Suffolk in the SE.
Somewhere I’ve wanted to visit for sometime as we rarely come in this direction.
We are staying in Southwold. We had a nice walk along the promenade by the sea and towards the pier past these lovely, colourful beach huts.
We came across some activity a little further on and it was a film crew. They were waiting for the sun to go down a bit further as they were filming a Christmas ad for Adnams. One of the beach huts was trimmed with pine branches.
The whole town seems to be dominated by the brewery. We can see it from our hotel window and we have some free taster bottles in our room.
Returning to the market place in town we called into two pubs run by Adnams, ( I think most are) one, The Swan looked very nice and we enquired about eating there tomorrow but they are only serving residents. Shortage of staff and even borrowing some staff from our hotel due to Covid, same old same old! Any way the cider - Wild Wave was very nice and Chris enjoyed the beer. We’ve been given a discount card for the shop so will be taking a look in there!
We are booked in here for dinner tonight so may have to do the same again tomorrow or there is always fish and chips we are at the seaside after all!
