Cat is animal

I met up with my work friend Kate at the ferry terminal for Zanzibar and there followed a most enjoyable visit to Stone Town for the weekend.

We talked for hours and got drunk in various establishments, although the town doesn’t have a wide variety of places where this is possible. At around 2am when we were close to the old fort, we came across an unusually large number of feral cats. Unwisely we then proceeded to pet them for a good hour, until we realised we had been sprawled on the dirty pavement for long enough. Various taxi drivers and street hustlers paused to investigate us. ‘Cat is animal’, said one. Yes, that is correct.
