The Biggest Bubble
Another very busy day in the capital at the Photographic Society of New Zealand Convention. We had a line up of amazing speakers including two young men who showed the most inspirational images, one a travel photographer and the other specializing in "Street Photography".
I attended a workshop led by Australian Peter Dobe during the afternoon. It was on time lapse photography and was extrememly interesting. After the first hour we were cast out into the wide world with cameras, tripods and remote control gear to practice what we had learnt. I worked with two students from Massey University, two lovely young women who are studying photography.
We had a hilarious hour down on the waterfront developing our project. A great learning time.
Before the convention started this morning I went down to the waterfront where the "Bubble Man" was making enormous bubbles with special wands and a secret frothy liquid. It was fascinating to watch particularly when he made bubbles out over the water.
The bubble I have featured today is about three feet across. I captured it just as it settled on the surface of the water...just before the bubble burst...
You can see reflections of some of the waterfront structures in the surface and yes, the tiny figure in one corner is me capturing a magic moment in time....
