Titanic

Pat, Ellen and I drove to the Titanic museum after saying goodbye to Carole, she caught the bus back home.

It is a fabulous place and jammed full of information. I liked the way it was set out so that you followed a path rather than wander aimlessly. When you think about all those people who were setting off to America and then lost their lives at sea, they would never think that one day there would be a museum all about them full of hundreds of people from around the world. The wonders of the ship, the hopes of third class passengers, the mistakes made, the pleas for help…especially the last CQD where the D is replaced by silence…the photographs and the voices of survivors and of those involved in building the ship were so thought provoking.

The sun was shining so we walked into the town centre and had lunch outside before walking back along the waterfront to get the car and headed to the airport.

It was a short flight, once up in the air you could feel the plane descending and within forty minutes we were at Liverpool airport.
It was a great trip and now I feel I need a holiday to recover from another jam packed holiday lol.
