toastrack tram

good to recently receive this postcard from a friend visiting her family on the Isle of Man and she knows my interest in the Douglas and Ramsey Electric Tramway.......
the extra shows a pair of very early toastrack trams which ran on the Isle of Bute in the Clyde from the horse drawn ones from Rothesay to Port Bannatyne from the 1880s on to electrification all the way to Ettrick Bay on the west coast.... buses replaced the trams in 1936....great shame for today's visitors like myself.....
assume that "toastrack" nickname is self explanatory
