So this is garnered from the last light of the day as I walked around the garden to draw breath before the evening rituals began. Looking over the garden wall provoked more questions than answers. This stable block was built in the latter part of the 19th century (justifying my title, to my satisfaction anyway). The upper floor is an office, so we may guess a birthday or anniversary celebration, supported by balloons. This is the prime minister who was supported by a minority of her parliamentary party, put in position by a minority of the Conservative party membership, and has no mandate from the rest of us.
