Not a tram

This vehicle was being run on the tram tracks next to Haymarket Station to keep them in good condition. Rails need wheels over them frequently to keep them from weathering and the surface becoming compromised. As it's still a good while until actual trams will be using these rails, a special machine has to keep them in good condition. If you look carefully at the front end of the vehicle, you can see the sparks from where the rail is being polished.
