May The Best Drake Win
Looks like a little bit of courting going on here to me, but it seems kind of late for that. Since I know virtually nothing about Mallards, they could be just be enjoying a late evening swim.
Tomorrow I have a pre-surgery appointment with my hand surgeon so he can review the situation and take new X-rays. I'm hoping he'll be able to schedule the surgery for somewhere around October 27. Rob's sister Laurie is standing by ready to fly out from Indiana to spend the next month or more with me so she can help me survive without my right hand during physical therapy and whatever else happens post-op. Laurie has been my support on another occasion when my husband was in the final months of his life. She's a nurse and her help was invaluable. She knew exactly what to do, how to handle his meds and coordinate with Hospice. This time we'll have a bit more fun together so I'm looking forward to having her here. I don't know how many people would willingly put their life on hold, fly 3,000 miles and stay away from their home for 6 weeks or so and do it with a smile on their face. She's bringing her cat, Mattie, with her so Miss Huffy Puffy may not look upon the situation with a smile on her face.
