Apple Pie
I’m floating between two houses this week. Numbers 2 and 3 grandchildren left for school at 8 am this morning but number 1 was still in bed when we left. That will change tomorrow as he has to be at university by 9 am so we will all be rushing around trying not to bump into each other.
P picked these Bramley apples from the old tree and there still seems to be a lot more to pick. They are great cookers so I stewed them when I got home and plan to make some pies when I have more energy. We’ve had a bumper crop this year so the neighbours have been benefiting as well.
We collected no, 2 from school at 3 pm and, of course, it was pouring with rain. He comes out with his jacket open and no raincoat. P has just gone to collect no, 3 who stays late to rehearse as she is in the school play - Guys and Dolls this year - which we plan to see in November. At least it’s stopped raining. They don’t seem to feel the cold as wander around the house in T shirts, shorts and bare feet. Oh to be young again!!
