Fallen Leaf, Wakehurst

Just one of many brilliant magenta Maple leaves (Acer sp.) carpeting the woodland floor at Wakehurst today.

Today's 'Extras' show more leaves: a glimpse of Westwood Lake; and the spillway at the foot of the lake, where it discharges into the Ardingly Reservoir. When the reservoir is full, water is backed right up over the spillway, which shows just how low water reserves still are in our neighbourhood.
