Twee Tea

Friends invited us to join them at a little tearoom nearby to them.
The owners are trying to run it in the style of a wartime tearoom and is in an ordinary terraced house complete with an Andersen Shelter in the garden and some WW1&2 memorabilia.
To be honest it felt a little twee, not least with Union Jack coloured tea cosies on the teapots and egg timers so you know when the tea has brewed.
Food came long before the drinks because “everyone wants coffee and our coffee machine is very slow”
I think they were going on rations as the food wasn’t generous although it was 2022 prices.
Don’t think we’ll go back although our friends seem to want to!
