Enemy of the State
At the Museum Society this morning our speaker was Hazel Prior, a bestselling author from Devon, who is also a professional harpist. Hazel’s work has been described as quirky, uplifting, and life affirming. Her talk, readings from her books and musical accompaniments were all of those things. A wonderful presentation which was a great advert for her books and for life.. Her message was ‘find something you are passionate about and go for it, it’s never too late.’ She has written three novels. These two concern penguins and carry a strong message about climate change, and the harm we are doing to the world. It was a very uplifting start to the day.
In the evening we went to our local amateur theatre- Torquay Little Theatre to see a production of The 39 Steps. Hilarious.I am still giggling.
What a day. We started off as ordinary citizens worried about climate change, and trying to contribute to society, and ended up as enemies of the state. Extraordinary. Proud to be a subscriber and supporter of Greenpeace.
