Striped in Sunlight

Fly screen making stripes,
Cat sunbathing in doorway -
Feels like home to me.

My contribution to National Poetry Day (UK). Inspired by granddaughter, Allegra, sending a video of her reading the poem she'd written, which then inspired me to write one for each of the grandkids. The theme this year is The Environment, so here is an alternative to the above:

People see, and feel:
Great for them, sunshine again!
But we dream of rain... 

The Lake is way lower than we've ever seen it. Temperatures too high for October, had the air con on again at nap time. The ground rock hard. Neighbours with animals worrying about feed.

Gratefuls:
- a catch-up with Julia and Eden
- them all together in Sutton tonight
- more rock moving (me) and fence building (Mike)
