Concert
The first part of the day was much as usual - shopping, Health Walk, cafe, short run - but then rest wasn't.
We met son and family for a meal and then went to the SNO (Scottish National Orchestra) concert.
It started with some Stravinsky ballet music and finished with Saint-Saens' Organ symphony, plenty to keep you interested and awake. The Caird Hall organ is, apparently, very good.
In between was the British premier of a harpsichord concerto, a spectacular piece that required unbelievably fast finger work and, despite the limitations of a harpsichord, plenty of variety. The pic's main 2 people are the harpsichordist on the left (Mahan Esfahani) and the composer on the right (Poul Ruders).
It was a good evening and the children enjoyed their first concert.
P.S. We had some water this morning and then it was off again until mid-afternoon. The main water-main had a section that was completely split along its length and over 7000 homes were affected. It made me realise how lucky we are to have piped water.
