Flossmo

I had quite a useful and productive day in the studio followed by a very unproductive hour and a quarter drive home. A truck had broken down on the A31 Farnham bypass and that was enough to slow the traffic down to a crawl for a couple of miles. My dashboard showed an overall speed from Guildford to home of 11mph. Thank heavens for Radio 4 which seldom fails to provide something in the way of entertainment.

This evening I had booked tickets for Mr Flossmo and myself to go to see a screening of the NT production of Jack Absolute Flies Again. Mr Flossmo grumbled at having to leave his nice comfortable sofa and drive five minutes down the road to see something he knew nothing about. Fortunately he really enjoyed it. The play is set in WWII and is loosely based on Sheridan's The Rivals. It was silly but funny.  Caroline Quentin was a wonderful Mrs Malaprop with some very lewd but amusing mispronunciations. I always feel that the NT screenings are terrific value - £15 for a ticket and a quick drive down the road; what's not to like?

The sculpture was one of a collection on display in the foyer at The Maltings. Never a dull moment in there.
