Off Alley

Today Ming and I decided to try this famous restaurant in our Columbia City. It is one of the best 50 restaurants in the US from The New York Times and the only one made to the list in Washington. It is a small restaurant with only 12 seats inside and two tables outside. We didn’t have reservation so we had to sit outside ( ok ) and share table with other people ( odd ) . After we sat down a few minutes, three people ( two ladies and a gentleman) were brought to our table. From late conversations we knew that one of the lady was the chef’s mother. She said this was her regular seat, of course.
Ming and I ordered these dishes plus some bread. The portion were small, like appetizers in regular restaurants. We like three of the five dishes. We will not go back unless in special occasions.
