On the beach
Today we went looking for blackberries. On our very first visit together to Brittany we camped at a village called Saint-Suliac just south of Saint-Malo where we live today. On one of the evenings we went for a walk around the headland and found a section of footpath where dozens of bramble plants tumbled down a cliff and were not picked but were wonderful. The fruit stuck in our mind so today we decided to cycle back to see if we could find them.
We cycled to the campsite and locked our bikes up and then set off on foot. We know approximately where we need to go but not 100%, so we followed the coastal path, and failed miserably to find the spot. I think at the headland we had a choice of two routes and picked the wrong one, but I'm not 100% sure... Anyway today's empty beach is to the River Rance, not the sea, and though the Rance is tidal, the barrage now reduces the effect so it's still has a tidal range here, but not as strong as it should be.
