Leaf Peepers

According to the Weekly Fall Foliage Report, this weekend through next week will be the best time to view peak colors in central Maine. We call those who purposely travel to view foliage “leaf peepers” • We did our own leaf peeping today along the river and while doing errands. A few trees are so gorgeous right now. They literally glow with deep intense color. Radiant Red, Fluorescent Yellow and Blazing Orange. It’s a pleasant surprise after the hot, dry summer. Fingers crossed heavy rain and strong winds stay away for a while so we can enjoy these colors for as long as possible • A long holiday weekend ahead with Columbus Day or Indigenous People’s Day celebrated on Monday. Lots of events planned in the area too: Swine and Stein, Pumpkin Festival, Maple Sunday, Harvest Fest, among others. We antisocial types will avoid the crowds and stay home, LoL! • Have a Happy Weekend!
