Old lines

Like many towns, Moretonhampstead lost its railway line back in 1956. A couple of years ago the Local Authority opened up a mile of new cycle/footpath from Moreton back towards Bovey Tracy along the track of the old railway including replacing an old bridge over a road. There is already a section open at Bovey Tracy and the plan is to open up the path all the way there, following the old line

I believe that in the end a path will reach from North Devon all the way to the south coast

It passes not far from out daughters house and today we took the two grandsons to ride their bikes along it. Lets hope the full track to Bovey Tracy` will soon be completed

The weather has been great today so we had a B-B-Q in the garden this evening
