Wonderful day

We had a little bait left, some we salted some fresh. After lunch we took off in the boat to try our luck. On the way out we saw a young eagle at the creeks mouth. We went to one of our fav fishing holes and caught the biggest perch we've caught this year. What fun! We kept 25. Most were 10"-11" and hooked 2 at a time. The river was "slick flat calm" so we decided to hit a few of the other spots we have not been to this year because we always caught all the fish we wanted closer to home. When we got to the next creek we spotted two more eagles. We made the trip around the island and trolled toward home. We caught 2 rock fish along the island shoreline just like the old days. Then it breezed up so we headed home. When we got to the creek I heard an osprey. So there are 2 left in the creek. I remember we had a few late leaving birds last year maybe these are the same ones.
It was a wonderful day on the river, I plan to share the fish with an old friend. We crabbed our pots and caught enough for dinner  and plenty to pick for crab cakes. Life is good here. I wish the same for you.
