Folly Arch
This Grade 2 listed folly was constructed around 1740. It lies on the south side of the Gobions estate in Brookmans Park, Hertfordshire, and was built as a new entrance to the estate, leading originally via an avenue lined with Lime trees to Gobions Wood.
The arch was deteriorating badly, with large cracks appearing in the mortar and brickwork and was, until a couple of years ago, supported by structural steel work to stop it collapsing. However, it has now been repaired and is an unmissable landmark.
Another back blip as I slowly catch up!
