Sloe Gin
Another morning set aside for a calendar shoot. This time, Its the turn of sloe gin.
I asked Rebecca to cut a couple of bunches of Michaelmas Daisey, put a black background in the window and pull the table ten feet away from the background. Now place the flowers one foot apart. I was with the camera, the far side of the moved table. By setting the camera low i was able to close the gap between chopping board (that glass & sloes are on and background (ten feet away, that flowers are on). Following a number of test and alignment shots, the glass was then filled with one year old sloe gin.
Incidental to this tale, the sloe gin from the glass and Kilner jar will be decanted into bottles and laid down in a cool dark place (in this case the attic). For a further two years. I like my sloe gin to be liquorish.
In the meanwhile, make a batch every year
For those that live locally, all sloes were picked from the old rec.
