Hen ffrindiau

Hen ffrindiau ~ Old friends

“Ananda, the Buddha's long-time personal attendant and monk-disciple, asks Buddha: ""Is it true what has been said, that good spiritual friends are fully half of the holy life?"" The Buddha replied, ""No, Ananda, good spiritual friends are the whole of the holy life. Find refuge in the Sangha community.”
—Shakyamuni Buddha

Roedd yn ddiwrnod i gwrdd â hen ffrindiau - wedi'i wahanu'n flaenorol gan Gorona. Yn gyntaf aethon ni i frecwast yn y pentref gyda Kédrag a Sharon. Maen nhw'n byw yn Gernyw, ond roedden nhw wedi bod ar wyliau ym Mhortmeirion. Gwnaethin nhw galwad i yn yr Eglwys Newydd ar eu ffordd adre. Roedd e'n dda i gael amser i ddal i fyny gyda nhw ar ôl llawer o flynyddoedd.

Yna gwnaethon ni seiclo ar draws y forglawdd i Benarth. Mae nifer o grefftwyr yna ar enciliad. Maen nhw'n dysgu peintio thangkas (paentiadau crefyddol Tibetaidd). Maen nhw'n dod o Awstria, Yr Almaen, Sbaen, Lloegr ac wrth gwrs Cymru hefyd. Roedd e'n dda i weld nhw a'u gwaith hefyd.

It was a day to meet old friends - previously separated by Korona. First we went to breakfast in the village with Kédrag and Sharon. They live in Cornwall, but had been on holiday in Portmeirion. They called at Whitchurch on their way home. It was good to have time to catch up with them after many years.

We then cycled across the barrage to Penarth. There are a number of craftsmen there on retreat. They are learning to paint thangkas (Tibetan religious paintings). They come from Austria, Germany, Spain, England and of course Wales too. It was good to see them and their work too.
