Day 1 of riding camp today, I'm shattered! Once we'd met our horses and had a quick assesment we went straight in with a jumping lesson, nothing too dramatic but really good to work with a top level coach. Oddly I felt so much more confident on a horse I didn't know and I came away really happy with what I achieved. Even the (unplanned) no stirrups take off, landing and canter round the school was ok.
After lunch we did some more flat work before a short hack out around the fields to wind down My horse (it turns out) is usually used by the coaches and leaders as he's very quite strong and forward, and likes to be in front. Apparently the yard owner - who I know vaguely as I've ridden here before - took a 'bit of a gamble' putting me on him.
I was in control most of the time, I think.
Pub for dinner tonight, although I'm hoping to persuade someone else to drive.
