The Lounge

The last time I blipped this room it was empty.  Today the first of our two sofas was delivered.  This corner of the room is just about done!  The people at Sofology informed us a few days back that the other sofa had been delivered too.  Well I'm not sure where, or if, they delivered it, but it certainly wasn't to our house, I think we may have noticed.  So after some toing and froing they agreed they had lost the sofa (how do you lose a sofa?) and found one exactly the same in their warehouse that we could have in three weeks. We await with bated breath!

In other news: after lunch we popped out to the cathedral,  Ann was looking for the memorial to William Hamilton, the 2nd Duke of Hamilton, who died of his wounds inflicted during the Battle of Worcester during the civil war in 1651.  He was taken to The Commandery where he refused amputation of his injured leg and died of blood poisoning. Although on different sides of the war Oliver Cromwell held him in high esteem.

A guide in the cathedral showed us the memorial plaque and, by lifting the carpet in front of the altar, his burial spot.
