Spotted the colours which have developed in this field in the bright sunlight this morning, so went out latish this afternoon hoping that the lower sun would bring out the colours even more, so I'd get layers of colour back to the autumnal hedge. I have, sort of, but the sun was hiding behind a thin layer of cloud & I didn't get the more intense effect I was hoping for. Anyway, the main subject is quinoa & the paler-coloured seed heads behind, with maize-like leaves, seem to be sorghum. Both areas were sown quite late after a previous crop had been very patchy, and the plants seem to have made an amazing amount of growth despite the dry conditions (though there is good old Suffolk clay underneath!).
