The Workhouse #2

Although Northleach is officially a town, it's a very small town and there isn't a lot to see in the way of what I would normally consider to be urban decay for Mono Monday. Most of the buildings are very old, and the ones that seem to be in a state of decay are actually also just as much in a state of (very gradual in most cases) renovation.

The workhouse is a case in point. It is still a care home now, but it would appear that renovation work has stalled. From the outside it hasn't changed at all from when I blipped it before. Goodness knows what it must be like inside for the residents.

We had a walk down into the town to check out lunch possibilities for the blipmeet on Wednesday. The Wheatsheaf pub seems to be out of the running as they only offer a full and expensive restaurant lunch menu. They weren't particularly friendly either when we made our enquiry. The prison and the wine bar seem OK though, but the wine bar may be tight for space as they don't open up fully for lunch.

Good news by the way, the scaffolding in the 'Lowry' street has gone, so we could all have a go at recreating his painting :-)
Also we noticed that they are putting the restored weather vane back on the church tower, just in time for the meet.
