The Green Shoots of Spring
A nice cooked breakfast was the order of the mid morning, so a trip to the Raemoir Garden Centre. FIrst thing it looked like the day was going to be largely sunny and warm.
Having lulled myself into this feeling of impending Spring we went out to Pitmedden Garden near Ellon. The weather soon demonstrated I was suffering from an overblown sense of optimism. The wind was strong, and while there was warmth in the intermittent appearances of the sun, this was not reflected by the wind.
The walls of Ptmedden garden are festooned with apple and pear trees. A few of them, this is an example, were starting to bud. Hopefully these brave plants will not turn out to have been foolish as well as brave. Quite a few people at the garden, mostly to be found sheltering in the cafe.
