Solitary
I had a job to choose todays blip photo but I liked the isolation of this lonesome pine amongst the dramatic weather.
We took a drive through Glen Strathfarrar. Tge gates are closed to cars at the end of the month so there are not many days left and todays weather was looking ok so off we went. We stopped at the deli in Beauly to pick up some lunch , curried parsnip soup and a chicken, feta and avocado roll.
It was a beautiful drive with mainly sunny skies dotted with a few rain showers making everywhere look very dramatic. The leaves have not reached their peak yet with the bracken making the most colour with all shapes and yellow and brown.
We drove to the end of the road , over the dam and up the narrow road to a parking space where we stopped to finish our lunch, very tasty.
Plenty of sheep where resting by the roadside and although we did not see any deer in the Glen there were plenty in the park with one large stag roaring away and making his advances on one of the doe’s.
Every year we say we must go back at a different time of year so hopefully we’ll remember next year :)
