The Inn Spectres
Great name for a band that plays in pubs!
Only got a few grab shots, at about midnight with the oh-so-sweet 85mm f1.8 Nikkor G, of the lead singer, a frankly sexy young lady who sang vigorously and moved knowingly and provocatively.
I concentrated on her, without shame, they were on their last number and the guys in the band were hardly pin-ups! I did edit a much safer and pleasant 'portrait' of her but she looked more like an easy-listening country crooner. This one has a very busy background but I always feel a band that's energetic should be shown as such, with hints of some of the players. Especially if you are representing the band with just one shot, as here.
Shot wide open, manually focussed, this has not been sharpened but some care with the black and white conversion - the lighting was a magenta/purple and yellow. It's all too easy to end up with strips and bands and blobs of odd looking mono tones that can look very unflattering. This young lady would not have appreciated it if I had given her botulism!
Quickly returning, it struck me that the cattle of India, the ponies of the New Forest and drunk women on a late Saturday night all have one thing in common - cars literally stop and gently manoeuvre around them in the road, never daring to blast horns, so as to not suffer their wrath. I have witnessed "conversations" lasting literally minutes whilst cars queue behind. Police cars and taxis seem to have their own ways of getting round them, but with very differing results!
Thanks to all for hoisting my night-time fisheye blip into the Spotlight, reaching the no.2 spot for some time.
No music from the band to link you to, only very poor video seems to be around, shot from the bar and with punters waiting to be served between us and the band. I will be posting this and a couple of others on their facebook page as a thank-you for a freebie pose.
Take a look at her in LARGE
