Lunch at the summerhouse

Work party with Friends of the Lake District at Sweden Wood near Ambleside.  A fascinating woodland on a steep slope where terraces were made many years ago, presumably for a garden where the Victorian or Edwardian ladies might wander.  There are no signs of garden planting, with very few exotics (no rhododendrons!) but you can see how beautifully the stone walls are constructed now we have cleared some of the bracken and brambles away.
