Juvenile Eider Duck

Not quite as streamlined as dad but the grey patches on his feathers will soon be white and smooth as silk.

The Eiders that rest on the rocks are usually too far away to photo ... Pittenweem harbour is the best place if you want to get a reasonable closeup.

 A long overdue hair cut tomorrow .... at the moment I resemble a hay field waiting to be harvested. Then it's back to Glasgow after enjoying a few days at the seaside.
