Left on the railing

I've ranted a few times about people leaving litter and bottles behind for someone else to deal with. These two containers were sitting on the dock at the ferry terminal.  Grrrrr....
What a day! We caught an early morning ferry to Vancouver Island to pick up our glasses that were ordered about a month ago after our last eye exams. Mine were ready for pick up two weeks ago, but G's had been broken in shipment, so I waited until his came in. G got progressives, and everything went okay when he tried them on and had the fit adjusted slightly. My turn came. I put on the new glasses and knew right away that something wasn't right, couldn't focus on anything in the distance and couldn't read the test handout for closer reading. Nicky took my old glasses and the new ones to check the prescription and came back to ask me to look through each lens with the other eye closed. Right eye was okay, left eye was completely blurry. She looked at the prescription, and sure enough, a typo showed up. So the glasses will be sent back with the proper prescription and should be ready for pick up in a couple of weeks. G's come with magnetic sunglasses and that didn't come either. Nikky suggested mailing both, but I want to go in for any adjustments that need to be made to the fit. Not pleased!! She was very apologetic, but it wasn't her fault.  Grrrrr.....
We barely had time to pick up a few things and rushed to the ferry to get home in time for G's afternoon appointment. He dropped me off at home and headed back to town, only to find out that this appointment wasn't necessary! The dentist said that he's glad the x-rays were done though so he could make sure there was no infection left. G's back to see him on Thursday for more prep work for the bridge he needs.
Another busy day tomorrow. Both of us managed to make appointments for our flu vaccines, a couple of hours apart, and in between we hope to vote in the local elections.
