Northleach Blipmeet
A small but elite (?) group of blippers met up today for the long awaited Northleach blipmeet :-)
Thanks to Technophobe, LooseCanon, steveng & Gill for joining me & mrsfb for a pootle along the town walking trail. Stiffknees & MrSk met up with us for lunch in the wine bar.
After coffee and cake in the Old Prison we had a look at the wagon display, cells and courtroom, and then walked down to the church. We were looking at the street where Lowry created his Street In Northleach painting and popped into Gallery 9 where we a had a long chat with the owner. We explained about blipfoto and our blip names were taken for future perusal. There were some super portrait photos on display there and mrsfb was quite taken by one where the subject was reading a book.
Along the way bit of shopping was done - Technophobe got some sausages and a bag from the butchers, mrsfb bought 3 small book reading teddy ornaments from the market, 3 for £1.
We dodged a light shower in the church, where I was keen to show everyone the photo I took of a Roman coin on display there.
Then on to the aforementioned lunch, where the portions were much bigger than expected. The numbers were about right, any more and we would have struggled to find a table big enough for us all. As it was we were lucky that a couple moved to make room for us. It turned out they were just relocating to Northleach from Cirencester, and had in fact just picked up their keys today.
Thanks again to all for coming. We didn't take a group photo or we could have used it for Wide Wednesday, old/aged :-)
Instead here is another view of the church, with the very recently restored weather vane.
