Bridge repairs

The old story goes that no sooner they finish painting the Forth Road Bridge then they have to start again.

Not so the bridge to the barn. I’m not sure how long ago it was that Nick put this version in, but it’s got to be well over a decade.

Today I continued replacing the oak planks that were originally intended for the house, then utilised for decking. Now I’m using purpose made decking planks - which should last another decade. By which time the joists on which they suit will need replaced too.
