Aging gracefully
This is the largest of three trees growing outside Kingsworthy church. When we were returning from our South Downs walk a few days ago we noticed what a glorious colour it had turned. Lazily I'd assumed it was an ash tree because of the shape of the leaves, but when I went up there this morning I realised its fruits were nothing like ash keys. It is, infact, a black walnut. I should have known - it was a tree my dad was particularly fond of, and at one point he created a black walnut plantation (though that didn't last long after his death, sadly).
So what does it have to do with 'old' and 'aged'? Well, the tree is very large and therefore must be faily old but more important, for 'aged' just look at the leaves. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all aged as gracefully as they do?
Many thanks for BobsBlips for hosting today's WidWed challenge. And have a great Wednesday evening/Thursday morning xx
